I started my undergraduate studies at Rutgers University in 1973. After three colleges and four majors, I enrolled in UOP's Online BSBA program in October, 1994. I completed the requirements for my BSBA degree on January 22, 1997 -- now here I am pursuing my MBA in Global Management!!
I have worked for Colgate-Palmolive for over 14 years. Prior to Colgate, I spent seven years working in R&D and QC at various paint and coatings companies. At Colgate I started out as a lab technician in Soap Product development. After three years of making and testing soap bars, I took an olfactory discrimination test and found out that I qualified as a "nose!" My official title is Research Scientist, but my job is Fragrance Evaluator. It is a unique way to make a living while I try to figure out what I want to be when I grow up! :)
Early on, my job consisted mostly of "sniffing," but my duties have expanded over the last few years. The entire evaluation staff is very involved in a global business simplification project. Needless to say, I was quite excited when I read the description of the MBA/Global Management program. It seems tailor made to what I am doing (and hope to be doing more of in the future).
