I was born in Upstate New York in June 1953 and graduated High School in 1971. After a few years working various jobs including Animal Control and Welfare Officer for the SPCA, I decided that I was ready to go back to school. I attended Corning Community College (CCC) in Corning NY and received an AS in Math/Science in 1976. My love of animals found me working as a Veterinarian Technician but eventually the lack of 'bennies' encouraged my decision to find another career. So, back to CCC I went and earned an AAS in Chemical Technology in 1983.
I moved to New Jersey in January '84 to begin my career at Colgate Palmolive (CP) Technology Center as a technician in Advance Oral Technology. I hated NJ and planed to move back to Upstate NY after I had been with CP for 2 years. Apparently it was fated that I remain here. In my 2nd year, CP changed its Pension Plan so that employees were fully vested in only 5 years. I decided to stick it out - it seemed logical to wait 'just' another 3 years.... :-)

Good thing! In the 4th year, I met the love of my life (alias at that time) my husband-to-be and now STILL the love of my life AND my husband. With our lives merged, I became a New Jerseyan. We've been married 7 years. Frank is a medically disabled dentist eagerly awaiting the opportunity to resume his career after successfully recovering (knock on wood and thanks to God!) from liver and kidney transplant surgery.
We share our home with two miniature longhair dachshunds (Gem and, her son, Facet), and a birman mix cat (Mystic).
Our hobbies are/were (and will be again): square-dancing, tailgate camping, spectating football and hockey, and a ongoing trekie from the 1st generation through and including Voyager! . I also enjoy (work, school, and health issues permitting) reading good horror, fantasy, and science fiction.
Currently, I am a Research Technician working primarily on determining remineralization and anti-caries (cavity protection) efficacy of potential actives for toothpaste and mouthrinses. I spend my time 'chained' to the lab-bench. This 'chained' feeling and the discovery of UoP Online Campus (September 1994) enhanced my decision to change careers yet again. Two weeks after I heard about the Online program I became a student here, and
I plan to stay at Colgate for at least another 22 years. I am hoping to move out of the 'pure' scientific research and into consumer research as my next step into business and up the corporate ladder. My experience with the UoP Online Program, has been wonderful. I honestly enjoyed all my undergrad classes so much, I'm still wondering just what I want to be when I grow up! ;-)
